Chad Everett Robison, 36, of Hernando, is charged with three counts of video voyeurism, three counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition and one count of promoting the sexual performance of a child, according to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office. He remained in the Citrus County Jail on Monday in lieu of $26,000 bond.

“I want to emphasize that this is a textbook case of an online sexual predator,” Sheriff Mike Prendergast said during a Thursday afternoon news conference, which was streamed live on Facebook. “It will not be tolerated in Citrus County, and we’re going to vigorously pursue people who commit crimes like this.”

Prendergast detailed some of what investigators found on Robison’s laptop.

“We have videos of Robison having virtual sex with an underage female who is not local, as well as trying to coerce young girls to show him their breasts while he masturbated on camera with them,” Prendergast said. “In addition, the defendant was secretly videoing and recording females in his restroom at his home over the course of the time that he gathered up these digital images and videos. We have yet to identify those victims, so additional charges may be forthcoming as we continue to press through the evidence that we’ve gathered.”

the investigation thus far has “just scratched the surface,” and that investigators anticipated finding additional suspects as the probe continues.

Capt. Brian Spiddle, with the Sheriff’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit, said some of Robison’s victims could be local, but that others have already been identified out-of-state and in Canada. Investigators have contacted the law enforcement agencies in those jurisdictions.

“It’s going to be a very difficult and long process to find those who have been victimized by this man,” Spiddle said in the news release.

Robison was arrested Thursday following a two-month investigation that began when a coworker at Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church in Lecanto found the inappropriate images on his laptop, which Robison had left behind at work, Prendergast said. Church officials contacted the Sheriff’s Office immediately, and Robison was fired.

Investigators analyzing Robison’s laptop found the tens of thousands of photographs, along with more than 3,000 videos, the sheriff said. The videos go back several years, though some were as recent as a few months ago.

A former worship director was arrested after child pornography was accidentally discovered on his personal laptop computer.

According to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, on May 11 co-workers of 36-year-old Hernando resident Chad Robison wanted to play a prank on him by messing with his mouse and keyboard settings on his personal laptop, which he often brought to work with him at Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church in Lecanto. But the church employees found porn, according to the probable cause affidavit.

The next day, other co-workers decided to investigate what extent of porn was on the computer, according to the affidavit. A video surfaced of a screen recording of Robison and a 14-year-old girl who he was trying to get to take off her clothes and masturbate, the affidavit said. Several videos dating back to 2013 existed on the computer, the sheriff’s office reported, and some videos were secretly recorded in the bathroom of his home.

 During a recent press conference, Citrus Sheriff Mike Prendergast said more than 3,000 videos and more than 350,000 images have been found. There are victims from all over the country as well as possibly from Canada, he added, so anyone who thinks they may be a victim of Robison can contact major crimes detectives regarding this case at 352-726-1121.

...Robison faces one count of promoting the sexual performance of a child, three counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition live over a computer online service and three counts of video voyeurism. His bond is set at $46,000.

That bail seems looow...

Uhh... yeah... they were looking for porn. You don't find secret child porn anywhere near the mouse and keyboard settings.

I'm thinking they used the prank as an excuse to check this creep's computer.

Agree, someone probably thought he was being creepy or some kid ratted on him trying to show them something on his computer. Kudos for the adults for following up on it with police and not just firing him and letting him move on to another part of the country.

Chad Robison, the former Lecanto church leader on the brink of standing trial for stockpiling digital copies of illicit pornography and other inappropriate materials, changed his not-guilty plea.
Agreeing to a plea deal, Robison -- who had served for six years as a worship director for Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church -- pleaded no contest Friday morning to his 48 felony charges, according to court records.
In accordance with Robison’s plea, Circuit Court Judge Richard “Ric” Howard will sentence the 37-year-old Hernando man on Aug. 20 to a prison term of up to 25 years.

Had a jury found Robison guilty as charged at his scheduled trial next week, Howard could have handed Robison a punishment of between 30 and 370 years.

In addition to downloading and sharing child pornography, Robison recorded and stored numerous video sessions of him having online sexual encounters with four different minors. Robison had also videotaped five unaware women as they used his bathroom.

Robison committed his offenses as far back as 2012, reports show.

His co-workers at Seven Rivers, where Robison produced Christian music between 2011 and 2017, discovered the illicit images in May 2017 when they tried to play a prank on him.

It's weird he sort of looks like a young version of Jeff sessions.
Definite creeper Vibe on this dude though

350,000 images. If this perv spent a solid 8 hours a day, every day, looking at each image for just 1 second, it would take said perv over 4 months just to see each image once :vomit:
Check out the math skills on you!
That really is an excessive amount...had to take a long time to gather!
