I read today on Daily Mail I think it was that the driver yelled "are u all ready to die" before the accident. Will look for link...found it
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...s-says-s-seen-bus-driver-reckless-before.html

I'm not sure I believe this lady, I think she's (rightfully) pissed and wants revenge.

How would anyone possibly know the driver was drinking every day unless he was openly holding a bottle of Jack while driving? Small children are very unlikely to notice a buzzed driver by his actions alone. They may notice family members because they see the day to day difference, but not a bus driver. And if he was drinking THAT openly I doubt he would have kept his job because all the kids would've been complaining, not just a single mother.

Also, why is there no other account at all (except from this single angry mother) about the driver screaming death threats at the end? If the bus was screeching full speed around a corner, it's unlikely that any children would even be able to hear the driver say those words unless he was on PA system, and there was no mention of a PA system. I think it's likely she made that story up, and considering that most news outlets aren't reporting that info I don't think I'm the only skeptic here.

I can totally believe his driving had consistently sucked though. You don't pull that kind of maneuver just once.

Cook said she's grieving for the families of the children killed -- but said her son is also suffering.
"My heart of love is going out for all that was in harm's way of God's will," she said. "Sending out mine and our condolences to every family that God touched yesterday in this horrible accident. And I am asking for compassion also for my son."

Shocking how she has absolved her son of any responsibility and laid the entire ordeal at gods feet with her "My heart of love is going out for all that was in harm's way of God's will," and her "condolences to every family that God touched yesterday in this horrible accident."

Ummmmm.... God wasn't behind the wheel of that bus and his foot wasn't on the accelerator. What an udder pile of
COW PLOP she served up!!
Ahhhhhhh! I see, so Jesus took the wheel. Makes perfect sense now.

I keep looking to see if they have released the results on what if any substances Johnthany Walker was under the influence of at the time he lost control of the bus. Still see bupkis on that front.

This story pushes me further toward Atheism. The only thing keeping me agnostic these days is the belief in an afterlife.

Just caught a blub on the news that no drugs or alcohol were found in bus driver involved in Chattanooga fatal crash. No link yet....

Shocking how she has absolved her son of any responsibility

No she didn't ... she said there was an accident, and that her son was devastated,

the son told her he crashed the bus. He is responsible.

I imagine if my son was involved in an accident like this he would be devastated.

This is an incredibly sad situation. I doubt it was intentional, supposed to be an ordinary day.

Durham School Services – said they are working with investigators, but did not address our questions about reports that parents here had complained about Walker.

I wonder what the complaint was ... his appearance or his driving? Man this guy is so young.

No criminal record. Got an education ... this guy was ahead.

What a great example of doing life right for kids.

From here this looks like Driver inexperience.

I thought drug tests took weeks?

Not when the outcome is related to a murder.

This woman is a twisted piece of absolute scumbag shit. She should be locked up right with her son. We don't need sick fucks like this who use their twisted religious beliefs to excuse horrible tragedies and their own sickmindedness.

Don't be like that. There can still be a God, you just have to accept that he obviously doesn't give a single shit about people/children. No need to go questioning your entire belief system every time there's a tragedy!

Not when the outcome is related to a murder.
Remember the kid that stormed off from his parents and killed that husband and wife. started chewing off the husbands head?
It took weeks to get the results.

Chewing off his face. I didn't mean head. haha face is bad enough.

6th child has died.
Officials said five children were killed initially: a kindergartner, a first-grader and three fourth-grade students. Police said on Wednesday evening that a sixth child had died.

I beg to differ as she clearly put the accident down to 'being in harms way of gods will' as if her son was merely the tool tapped to bring about the cruel, devastating fulfillment of that will.

People turn to faith in times of trouble...that's why they call it faith. Not just this woman, but lot's of people. I've done it myself ... more than once ... and upon reflection on those events I've seen that God really did have a plan for me ... not at first ... but eventually.

he was on the wrong route.

WTH! What was he doing taking that bus full of small children somewhere he was not supposed to. No drugs or alcohol, so he was just being reckless at the very least. But 6 kids are dead, how's that working for you as God's will? A god that would kill, maim and injure, so horrendously, a bus full of children is not who I want as my God.

It may be God's will, but we make personal choices that are outside the realm of God, and he made some extremely poor choices.

Not his fault, God tapped him to carry out his divine will. Is it too soon to put him forward as a possible candidate for sainthood?

Just musing here. He was off route, at least one person alleging that he said something about getting ready to die before the crash, and having spent some time looking at the streetview on google .....

I'm thinking he was joyriding down the hill. Giving the kids a thrill.
I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he's done it before. Just go round the block the wrong way so we can go 'wheeeeee' down the hill ...... there's actually a bus stop 30 yards from the crash site at an intersection. If you make a right, you head back to the school. So he was almost back on his route.

He was travelling in an easterly direction to crash where he did. I think the bus has tail slid out of the right bend sending it off the road to the right as he fought and corrected the slide. They've mounted the nature strip as driver is steering hard to the left to hold the line, hit a raised driveway and the bus has flipped over onto its right side, then slid across and along the road.

The homes that are seen in the news footage behind the bus are on the left of the street approx 100 yards or so from the bottom of the hill and the apex of the bend.

The speed had to be ridiculous.

I've driven a number of buses and trucks of similar size and handling. I've seen a lot of shit. I know for this to end how it did, that we are talking seriously reckless driving here.

Don't know how to link google maps.

He's lucky he didn't kill them all.

Why can you say some thing nice like its good thing there were survivors in this horrible accident.

Like seriously how many of us have been in a car accident ... ? sometimes its fatal, sometimes we

get lucky. You make it sound like this guy intentionally murdered these kids and that is simply

not true. He was an inexperienced driver.
[doublepost=1480038185,1480038002][/doublepost]
He should not have been driving after the first accident.

Not without some extra training ... We just went through this with a red light camera ... it was a company vehicle so he had to pay a fine and his company signed him up for driver training and supervision ... he had a guy ride around with him all day long.

. You make it sound like this guy intentionally murdered these kids and that is simply

not true. He was an inexperienced driver.

I also think he murdered these kids. Not intentionally, but culpably. This wasn't an accident. It was a crash. There's a difference.

And nope. He was far from an experienced driver. He got his bus ticket in April. 6 months is not experienced.

It's obvious from what happened that he didn't have the experience to know what happens to 10 ton of steel and flesh when you hurl it through a bend like a race car.

And if he was playing, like @Podargus says, giving he kids a thrill ride, then he not only was not experienced enough to know that it was dangerous, he was not mature enough to know you don't play with a school bus full of kids. Even if he didn't mean it to happen, it did happen, and it was his fault for driving too fast in a place he shouldn't have been.

Going by the way that bus looked afterwards I still say he's pretty damned lucky he didn't kill them all and himself. That bus was pretty much cut clean in half.

I don't think he did it on purpose, I'm sure he didn't, but just because it wasn't on purpose that does not mean it's not his fault. Experienced or not, still his fault.

This wasn't an accident. It was a crash. There's a difference.

I've been in car crashes ... I called them accidents. The police have a division for car crashes ... you go to a specific location called an Accident Reporting Centre ... this was supposed to be an ordinary day for everybody involved.
[doublepost=1480046820,1480046741][/doublepost]
still his fault.

I never said it wasn't his fault ... I'm just saying how awful for everyone except the lawyers.
And from here everyone include the driver too.

If Gods plan involved a bus full of children being horrifically injured and/or killed, than why would any decent human being have the slightest amount of affection or respect for such a deity?

Fucking idiots.

He's lucky he didn't kill them all.

He no doubt disagrees

You make it sound like this guy intentionally murdered these kids

Yep. Looks like he did.

and that is simply
not true.

How do you know?

He was an inexperienced driver.

So what? That has nothing to do with him driving at absurdly high speeds into a fucking tree. That's not a "whoops, shit i don't have enough experience!" that's "i'm gonna slaughter some kids today!!!!".

Guessing by the WTFs it appears that I needed to express myself better in the above. I meant to suggest that there I was scurrying, scouring and obsessing over a lost turkey platter when there would be the families of these children who would be facing their first Thanksgiving without them. It made me feel quite small that I was obsessing over something so trivial in comparison.

The driver of a school bus that crashed in Tennessee last year, killing six children, was charged with vehicular homicide in an indictment unsealed on Wednesday, local media reported.

The indictment contained six counts of vehicular homicide against Johnthony Walker along with other criminal counts, according to a copy of the court papers posted on the website of the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

Walker, 24, was arrested last year in connection with the Nov. 21 bus crash in Chattanooga. Authorities have said he was speeding on a winding road while using a cellphone before the bus veered off course, flipped on its side and hit a tree.
[....]
Walker has remained in jail since his arrest, according to local media. The charge of vehicular manslaughter carries a maximum sentence of up to 30 years in prison.

The indictment was filed in Hamilton County criminal court. Walker is due to appear before a judge on March 24, according to the website for the local district attorney's office, which confirmed the indictment was unsealed on Wednesday.

The grand jury that handed down the indictment also charged Walker with four counts of reckless aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, reckless driving and use of a cellphone behind the wheel of a school bus, said the court papers posted by the Times Free Press.
