Police say a Radcliff mother has been arrested after she hit her 8-month-old boy in the face.

According to an arrest report, it happened on March 13, 2018 just after 12:30 p.m.

Police say 31-year-old Katie Fultz's 8-month-old boy sustained bruising, swelling and cuts around his face, ears and shoulder, as well as both hands and feet.

Initially, Fultz claimed the injuries were caused when the boy fell about two feet, but police say she soon changed her story. According to the arrest report, she ultimately admitted to hitting the child in the face with the back of her hand, knocking both him and a chair to the floor.

She allegedly told officers that she had been depressed and was at her "wit's end."

Police say she didn't seek medical attention for the boy.

Fultz was arrested late Tuesday evening at the Elizabethtown Police Department and charged with first-degree criminal abuse. Fultz is currently being held in the Hardin County Detention Center.

What is with these bitches that when they feel like they are at their wits end that beating their child will fill up their wits bank anew?

Motherhood at times can be very taxing, frustrating and exhausting. You deal with it. Call a family member or a friend and tell them you need a break from baby, preferable to breaking baby. Failing that make an appointment with your physician about the stress that has you at your wits end.

Whoa.... that is one ugly mug she posed for.

A Radcliff woman began serving a six-month sentence this month in the Hardin County Detention Center after a Hardin County jury found her guilty of criminal abuse.

After a jury heard testimony in the case, Katie Fultz, 32, was sentenced for third-degree criminal abuse involving her then 8-month-old child.
According to her attorney, Lee Davis Jr., “we now know that Ms. Fultz had many problems and that the injuries to the child were likely the result of accidents, not intentional or wanton child abuse by the mother, Ms. Fultz.’’

Davis said in court in November that a report from psychologist Kristen McCrary “outlines some psychological and mental problems” in Fultz and that “she has an inability to parent and that she has a history of mental problems,” including a diagnosis of a bipolar disorder.
According to an arrest citation, the child had bruising, swelling and abrasions to the head and other bruises to his body.

The child was placed in custody of Child Protective Services.
