Jakeob Jeffery McKnight was murdered in Lakewood Colorado on July 21, 1991.

Almost 25 years to the day Jakeob's murder remains unsolved. It is still to this day a cold case, with the Lakewood Police Department, in Lakewood Colorado.

Jakeob had been playing in the park, at a swimming hole in the creek, down the greenbelt from his house. His brother Josh was there, as were some friends from the neighborhood. Bear Creek Park in Lakewood Colorado, off of Wadsworth and Yale.

Total creepy fucker, John "Felix" Ramsey Chin and his friend Tom Judge, were there too.

As it got dark, everyone rode home on their bikes, Jakeob walked, as he didn't ride a bike that day. He never made it home. His body was found the next day, near an uprooted, rotting tree. He had been stabbed 24 times. He was 10 years old.

The prime suspect in his murder was John "Felix" Ramsey- Chin. When I saw his picture in the paper years later- 2012, for child pornography arrest (unrelated to Jakeob's murder) it made me throw up.

That's right. The prime suspect in Jakeob's murder was arrested for child pornography in September 2012.

In April 2016, he was only sentenced to 4 years on the child porn charges.

But that still doesn't answer the question as to who killed Jakeob...

The uprooted and rotting tree, where Jakeob was found was burned. The bench that got put in the park in Jakeobs name is no longer there.

It was destroyed by vandals, who I can only hope, didn't know the significance of it. Or the comfort it brought to those who knew or loved Jakeob.

At any rate, his family must have been to hell and back, and using an obscure spelling of the child's name did not cause this to happen to them.......
 
Jakeob, and his brother Josh (Joshaua) both had untraditional spellings of their names.

Jakeob didn't deserve to have the life stabbed from his body. He died alone, at a rotting tree, in a park that we all played in. On an otherwise seemingly normal day.
His parents didn't deserve 25 years of agony, following his murder, unknowing who killed their son. Jakeob died. He was 10 years old. He had a family and friends who loved him. He was a good kid. With a good family.
And 25 years is a long, long time to be without answers in his murder.

Not a day goes by, that I don't think of Jakeob. My life changed when he died.

My son will never know the carefree way of life we lived as kids, because that carefree way of life died when Jakeob was murdered.

After 25 years, I never forgot you Jakeob. And as I look at my son, who turns 10 himself on your birthday this year, I miss you so much.

Did they rule out this pedophile, or does he remain a suspect?

If nothing popped up to rule him out, he's no doubt responsible. Someone should murder him.

I really wish vigilante shit happened more often, really wish a member on this board would do stuff like that and then post cryptic stuff about it on here, enough to let people know what happened but not enough to firmly connect em to it in a prosecutor or jurys eyes ya know.
 
This world is so messed up that it will even destroy a bench that was a symbol of love.

Jakeob, I pray that your parents eventually get an answer. There will never be closure but at least some healing can occur.
 
How awful, 25 fucking years and still no arrest. Did they get any DNA that maybe wasn't viable back then but could be tested now? I am sure his parents haven't stopped pushing the cops, I hope the re-open it.

I know exactly what this family is going through. My mother was brutally murdered in October 1981 when I was just 6yrs old. Her body was missing for 3 weeks until she was discovered wrap in a mattress by a 12yr old boy riding his bicycle. She was stabbed 8 times, beaten and strangled. This coming October will be 39 long years and to this day, no one has done a single day in jail.
