Officials in Ohio have released heart-rending photos of two emaciated female boxers with their bones protruding through their skin in hopes of locating their owner.

According to a post on the Butler County Dog Warden’s Facebook page, Humane Society officers picked up the pups on Thursday in Hamilton.

Images taken of the animals after their rescue show a tawny boxer and a black-and-white boxer. Both have white fur on their faces, suggesting that they are older dogs.

A full-body snapshot of the light-brown pooch shows her with virtually every single bone in her skeleton visible through her fur.

She was taken to the home of the deputy dog warden to receive special treatment and care.

According to the Facebook post, the severely emaciated animal is in need of timed feeding and monitoring.

‘These dogs are safe at the Humane Society and are receiving medical treatment, but they have a long way to go,’ the warden’s post read.

Older dogs so I'm wondering if that could have anything to do with it. We've had a few pets live into old age and all but one looked close to the one pic above. Got an old long fur cat now that's just a bag of bones but can't see it for her fur. Vets never had an issue with their condition so I figure that's normal after so long.

The owner of two emaciated dogs that were picked up by the Butler County Dog Warden has been arrested.

One of the dogs was reportedly near death. The Dog Warden was hoping to get in contact with their owner.

42-year-old Brian Scott Trautwein was arrested on two counts of Cruelty to a Companion Animal after being interviewed.

Trauthwein had told the Dog Warden that he only had the two dogs for about two weeks, but it was discovered by investigators that he had actually owned the two dogs for years.

"The suffering that both these dogs endured is ridiculous and will not be tolerated in Butler County, There are so many different ways to get help for animals so this outcome will not be tolerated,” said Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones.

Porsche and Gracie have both been adopted into furever homes.

Was unable to find an update on the owner's punishment.

If what he said was true during his testimony it can be very difficult to care for your pets when you habe limited finances and/or resources to get them the help they need.

In the end he did get the dogs the help they needed and for that I am thankful.

These two dogs should be living the princess life,. They would be getting homemade dog food here. We make food for Ursa with rice, meat, eggs, veggies from the garden, some fruit and a little turmeric, rosemary or other spices.

The man claimed he didn’t have transportation to take the dogs for treatment, he called for help but everyone wanted money! So, how did he get his food? Separation anxiety! Yes, separation from food , starving anxiety! Those poor dogs, so glad they found good homes.
