Three people have been arrested after 29 pit bulls were found abandoned on a property in a remote area of Smithfield, Fayette County in August.

Edward Harris, of New Bloomfield; Melisha Robinson, of Uniontown; and Regis Grooms, of Brownsville are all charged with multiple counts of animal fighting, possession of animal fighting paraphernalia and cruelty to animals. The animal fighting charges are felony charges.

At last check, three of the dogs were found dead on the property, four were taken for medical treatment and one died on the way to the veterinarian. Some of the dogs were severely underweight and/or covered in ticks.

Awwww. They may be murder dogs, but that's no reason to be cruel.
