Authorities discovered that a 5-year-old boy was allegedly being sexually assaulted while investigating the death of a 1-year-old boy.

On March 30th, Wagoner County deputies were called to reports of an unresponsive baby at the home of William “Bill” Woolley, 59, and Lisa Woolley, 56.

The 13-month-old boy was pronounced dead.

During an autopsy, the state medical examiner discovered that the baby appeared to have been physically and sexually assaulted, the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office stated in a news release.

Investigators immediately requested assistance from the Department of Human Services, which removed a second relative, age 5, from the Woolley’s home.

Officials say investigators arranged for forensic interviews and examination by a nurse who specializes in sexual assault.

Through the interview process, the 5-year-old said William had sexually assaulted him, and that Lisa Woolley had witnessed it.

“You just never know what a thorough investigation will uncover,” Sheriff Chris Elliott said. “We went in with open minds and eyes wide open, and in trying to determine how we lost one innocent child, we learned we needed to protect another.”

Authorities say that based on the 5-year-old’s disclosures and other corroborating evidence, the Wagoner County District Attorney’s Office obtained arrest warrants for Bill and Lisa Woolley.

William and Lisa were arrested and booked on charges of Child Sexual Abuse and Enabling Child Sexual Abuse.

The baby’s death is still under investigation.

I am torn between gratitude that someone has the heart to specialise in getting justice for these children, and sadness that such a specialism is necessary.
I did some time in the trenches supporting parents whose kids were being treated for sexual abuse. Even those who had actually gotten their kids help struggled with denial & minimizing.

The Wagoner County Sheriff's Office said they have arrested a couple for first-degree homicide involving a child and sexual abuse charges.

Court records show Bill and Lisa Woolley's 14-month grandchild Elijah Woolley was found dead in his home in Broken Arrow on March 30, 2018.

Elijah was found dead in his playpen in March, and an autopsy determined the toddler suffocated. Records show Elijah Woolley also had "multiple penetrating blunt impact injuries to the anus."

An affidavit states the Woolleys acted together in the "willful or malicious injuring, torturing, maiming or using or unreasonable force" that resulted in the boy's death, according to charges filed by Wagoner County District Attorney Jack Thorp.

The Woolleys are also charged in the alleged sexual abuse of another child. Investigators said Bill Woolley, 59, was responsible for the abuse and Lisa Woolley, 56, enabled it, records show.

Wagoner County Sheriff Chris Elliott said the other child told investigators Bill Woolley sexually abused him and Elijah. That child is in DHS custody.

An autopsy showed Elijah suffered from sexual abuse and died by suffocation, Elliott said.

These two tortured those children and I can't imagine that the biological parent that is related to them did not have an inkling of how fucked up these two are.

Here’s a weird as fuck update:

Broken Arrow Couple Cleared In Death Of Grandson

BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma - A Broken Arrow couple originally accused of murdering their grandson wants to clear their names after their charges were dropped.
They said even though the charges were dropped after additional evidence came to light and testimony from child abuse experts, they've still been through hell and back.

Bill and Lisa Woolley said they lost their jobs, their friends, all their money, but worst of all, they lost custody of their other grandson. He is still in state custody and they want him back.

Dropped charges does not equal innocence.
It only means they did not have sufficient proof to press charges and go to trial.
In this case it actually does mean they are innocent. The charges were dropped because it was pointed out that the medical examiner 'suggested' the death could have been strangulation, but they didn't actually know what the cause was. It got dropped because all of the experts that were to testify for the state, all agreed there was no sexual abuse and he more than likely died from SIDS.

Reading through a few articles it seems as though the only reasons charges were filed to begin with was because of a nurse's statement that later turned out to be false, and the medical examiners assumption of cause. The physical evidence and expert testimony didnt actually point to murder or even abuse.

If they didnt do it, its scary that they lost it all over just the word of 2 people, one of which isnt even qualified to make assessments on abuse or death. The medical examiner should have all their cases reviewed by peers after this.

A Broken Arrow family at center of a high profile child death case is facing a new challenge in trying to reunite with their living grandson.
FOX23 previously reported extensively about Bill and Lisa Woolley. The couple was originally charged in the death of their grandson, Elijah Woolley, in 2018 and abuse of their other grandson.

All of the charges were dropped in 2021.
Their daughter, the boys’ mother, learned during a court hearing Wednesday in Wagoner County that she’s going to have to start from scratch to get the judge in the guardianship case recused due to a technicality.

It’s something she and her family have been trying to do, claiming the judge has been biased and lied about a guardianship form.
“What the judge told me is that it was the way I was going to get my son back,” explained Desiree Woolley. “The only way I was going to get my son back, which turned out to be the only way I wasn’t going to get him back because I pretty much signed my rights away when I signed the paper.”

She continued, “My son’s the only reason I keep coming back because I know that he belongs with his family.”
The judge in question has previously stated she cannot talk about matters involving children.

Additionally, the Woolley’s story is being featured in an upcoming documentary. The film will be screened at Circle Cinema March 25, 2023.

This whole case is so confusing. How does a SANE nurse (what we call them where I live) make such a horrible mistake? Was their physical evidence the infant had been abused? How did the M.E. make such a mistake as well? Did the 5 yr old disclose abuse or not?
