A 91-year-old Brooklyn man died on Wednesday after a group of robbers broke into his home and tied him up, police said.

Waldiman Thompson and his 100-year-old wife, Ethline Thompson, were sitting in their home when a group of unknown intruders broke in and ransacked the place, according to police. The suspects threw a blanket over her head and then tied up both of the elderly residents, according to police.

Ethline Thompson, who managed to untie herself, ran outside and alerted authorities. Police arrived to find her husband unresponsive on the floor.

Investigators believe he may have died of shock, because he had no other injuries, according to ABC's New York station WABC. The official cause of his death has not been determined.

The couple’s family said it was heartbroken by the incident.

"Oh my god. It breaks my heart to see my uncle died. He was like a father to me," Karlene Grose, Waldiman Thompson’s niece, told WABC Wednesday.

Investigators said they are looking for four male suspects and watching surveillance footage for clues.

Ethline Thompson was taken to a nearby hospital where she was treated for minor rope burns. According to police, she was confused and did not know her husband had died.

This is appalling and I hope they catch the little scum that did it but

Ethline Thompson, who managed to untie herself, ran outside and alerted authorities.

If I live to be 100 (and that's a big if) I hope I have that kind of courage and strength.

I hope all the people that want prison reform or want to talk about how unfair the judicial system is think of what happened to this man and what his wife went and will go through dealing with the loss of her husband.

What a horrible batch of little shits! This couple managed to live 100 years before these little fucking bastards scare the life out of her husband and now hes dead
Hope they get sentenced to lwop

this has fucking nothing to do with prison reform. I feel there needs to be major laws & prison reform but also believe in death penalties handed out and dealt with like skittles to scum like this and others involved in like cases
[doublepost=1507841599,1507837154][/doublepost]your dislike is as rational as the original statement that didn't have crap to do with this case: dimes to dollars these will be "juveniles" that I feel should be tried as adults but wouldn't have nothing to do with prison reform in any shape or form nor would that have to do with anything in this. Be a fool because that is all anyone could be that feels to interject something so random in a case like this. But that line is insane: people need to be kept in prison for murder and child molestation not non violent non other crimes besides drugs. The prison system is racist & exploitive as stands and needs a massive over haul and the abolishment of private prisons.

At a place in life where you are a couple and just enjoying your final days together.
Then some animals have to come in and up end your life.
All they wanted was to be together in peace.

Find the perps and execute them...slowly

Police arrested Dwayne Blackwood, 27, on charges of murder, felony assault and burglary in the harrowing Brooklyn home invasion that left Thompson bound and dead on the floor of his Bedford-Stuyvesant brownstone.

According to police sources, the East New York resident confessed to the crime and implicated a second man as his partner in crime. The suspect who remained free was caught on video carrying a lockbox from the home, cops said.

The woman who took care of a 91-year-old man and his 100-year-old wife who were tied up during a home invasion was arrested for allegedly setting them up.

Suzette Troutman, 45, was arrested on a second-degree murder charge and other charges connected to the burglary that resulted in the death of Waldiman Thompson in his family's Brooklyn, New York, home.

Troutman - the second person arrested in connection to the robbery - was hired two years ago, helping Thompson and his wife Ethlin with shopping and other housekeeping chores.

The Brooklyn native was at the home on October 11 when $5,000 was stolen from the couple as they were tied up by the robbers.

'For two years now, she would go by there and somehow check on them, now and then,' Ethlin Thompson's brother, Garfield Bringle, told theNew York Daily News.

'I met her, talked to her. Looks are deceiving; you can't see people's true colors.'

She was charged with second-degree murder and two counts of assault and burglary.

The same charges are also faced by , 27-year-old Dwayne Blackwood. He is her nephew, according to the NY Daily News.

According to local law enforcement, Blackwood's cell phone placed him at the scene.

At the announcement of Troutman's arrest, Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said that two more suspects were being searched for in connection to the heist.

With a toddler in tow that day, Troutman drove her nephew and another man to the Thompsons’ home, where thieves tied up the couple, took a paltry $5,000 and left Waldiman Thompson to die of a heart attack, authorities said...

...Prosecutors described her as the mastermind of the sick crime.

“She took care of the Thompsons. She used her trust to betray them and commit this crime, said Assistant District Attorney Bernarda Villalona. “The defendant is the key to planning this home invasion. She had the knowledge and the trust. She caused his death.”

Wow. I wasn't expecting that twist. That monster has no soul...setting them up like she did. Neither do the other participants. I hope they get the DP.
